As one of the most biologically diverse countries on earth, Australia is home to a huge range of unique creatures, plants and environments. Over 80% of flora and fauna species found in Australia are endemic to this unique landscape. Since increased settlement and interaction with the rest of the world started around 200 years ago, Australia’s natural biodiversity has faced many challenges including the negative impact of agriculture and the introduction of invasive plant and animal species. Imagine if you can do something to change it… Just traveling there. Yes, yes, you listened right!
In Australia, we can participate in responsible tourism that respects and honours the people and places we visit, meanwhile we are helping to support local communities in maintaining their way of life. How? Taking part in amazing luxury eco bushwalks, organized by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC).
This bushwalks connect us to the heartland of the Australian outback as we venture out to walk the land and sleep under the stars. Curious?
Responsible travel for travellers with a social conscience
It is a four-day luxury bushwalk and camping adventure. It connects us to the raw beauty and deep history of the Australian landscape as we hike through the private wildlife conservancy that makes up the Arkaba bush region. If we book it, we will traverse the ancient Flinders Ranges National Park and tap into the 600 million-year-old geography of Elder’s Range and Wilpena Pound.
Also, the organizators want that we learn about the land and the people who have called it home from experienced and passionate local guides. We will soak up sweeping mountain views, enjoy home style ranch living, sleep under the full sky of the Southern Hemisphere and tuck into delicious homemade Australian food and wines.
Also, we will camp out in traditional outback style in spectacular and remote locations that let us get up close and personal with the native wilderness.
