The Icelandic designer, Arnar Mar Jonsson launches his eponymous brand Arnar in 2017, in collaboration with his friend Luke Stevens. Their clothes combine functionality with sartorial abilities. The resulting garments support flexibility and comfort without sacrificing sustainability. The designers take inspirationn form every-day experiences, filling up a  visual diary of photographs of their friends, which they use to observe interactions between people, their clothing, and their environment. The menswear and streetwear collections are produced with fabrics stretch without elastic thread, as the densely-woven organic cotton Ventile, that reduces the need for waterproof treatments. Influenced by the rugged terrain of Iceland and concrete of London, Arnar proposes a dynamic wardrobe built for all conditions.  Most of the pieces are adaptable, which means that they can be worn backwards or for example the introduction of a new piece, a tracktop that has a detachable zipper pocket, and the pocket itself can be zipped into a carrying bag. In this way, no one will need to get plastic bags around shops.  Arnar’s garments are malleable and made to last.
