The Apparel Impact Institute came out in June with an international initiative to reduce the industry's carbon emissions by 2030. This is a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental protection in fashion. Some of the solutions it proposes are the use of renewable energy, less reliance on fossil fuels in factories, changing infrastructure and modernizing supply chains.

The PVH Foundation recently joined this initiative by donating money to achieve these philanthropic efforts through the iconic brands of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Being part of the lead partners along with The Schmidt Family Foundation, Lululemon and many more. This investment is intended to meet the fund's needs to achieve the fashion industry's climate goals. As they are able to bring sufficient technology for an immediate change.

"The leadership shown by PVH Corp, a long-time partner to Aii, represents a big step forward in our work to tackle fashion's supply chain emissions".  "The PVH Foundation is helping to fuel the Fashion Climate Fund's unique grantmaking engine to accelerate proven programs, solutions, and innovations into the supply chain to lower carbon emissions."

- Lewis Perkins, Aii President.

Additionally, these funds will be monitored by a panel of experts to increase and prioritize sustainable projects, business strategies, and capital management within the initiative's Climate Solutions Portfolio. Whether in the short or long term, with this amount of investment it will be possible to drive the fashion industry in an ethical and sustainable direction.
