J. MENDEL

-- --

Gilles Mendel, son of luxury fur manufacturers (his predecessors owned a boutique in 1870 in St. Petersburg ) took over the family business in 1981 and turned it into a responsible brand. In 2002, the parisien-based designer launched his pret-a-porter line, designing furs and dresses for elegant women, ready to parade for the red carpets around the world. The brand is against the inhumane treatment of animals and supports the principles of transparency and traceability of its products. Moreover, Mendel’s furs are  conformed to the Truth in Fur Labeling Act of 2010. There is much more in its collections. He works with Italian artisans, using recycled cashmere and a viscose derived from wood pulp.
