Neonyt will rock the new era of Greenshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show Berlin

Yesterday, we witnessed the birth of Neonyt, a new international hub for sustainability, innovation and fashion launched by Messe Frankfurt. With Thimo Schwenzfeier as Managing Director and Magdalena Schaffrin as Creative Director, Neonyt will merge the two sustainable fashion fairs Ethical Fashion Show Berlin and Greenshowroom, together with the FashionSustain conference, the #Fashiontech organised by the Premium Group as well as events and showcases at the Kraftwerk Berlin.

Yes, you heard right! Greenshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show Berlin will become Neonyt after the upcoming edition, from 3-5 July, 2018. Messe Frankfurt wants to take them to the next level, called Neonyt, a global hub for future-oriented fashion and sustainable innovations that will merge the two sustainable fashion fairs Ethical Fashion Show Berlin and Greenshowroom, together with the FashionSustain conference, the #Fashiontech organised by the Premium Group as well as events and showcases. Following the end of the fair and for the coming 2019 winter edition, Neonyt will then form Europe's leading hub for future themes in the fashion industry.

"With Neonyt, we're launching a global hub that brings together visionary experts in the industry, provides a broad platform for a sustainable lifestyle and continues to provide a consistent future-oriented focus for the fashion industry", says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.

Progressive and polarising: Neonyt

The hub Neonyt will combine the themes of Business, Inspiration, Knowledge, and Community in a novel way.

Business! The two trade fairs Ethical Fashion Show Berlin and Greenshowroom are merging to form the B2B platform of the hub. In addition to social and environmental criteria, Messe Frankfurt is focusing on a stronger fashion-related curating of exhibiting fashion labels. The segmentation into the style worlds Moderncasual, Craft, Urbanvibe and Greenshowroom as a synonym for High Fashion will be continued and supplemented by further product areas such as Beauty.

Inspiration! The fashion highlight of the hub is the catwalk show. The catwalk show draws a contemporary picture of sustainable fashion with curated looks that combine the exhibitors’ most outstanding styles. Various combinations provide exciting and progressive inspirations for retailers, fashion buyers and fashion magazines.

Knowledge! The FashionSustain conference successfully launched by Messe Frankfurt last season focuses on sustainable materials, intelligent processes and applied industrial innovations for the fashion industry. Parallel to the conference, interdisciplinary teams will work as part of a Thinkathon with a start-up nature to find solutions for concrete questions posed by the industry. Also at the Kraftwerk, #Fashiontech by the Premium Group focuses on digital solutions for marketing and retail as well as digital market trends. Messe Frankfurt is thus continuing its successful cooperation with the Premium Group. In addition to the two conferences, lectures, workshops and discussion panels by trade experts and certifiers will provide further inspiration for trade visitors.

Community! As the third pillar of the hub, events such as the Nightshift with longer opening hours, the blogger and influencer event Prepeek powered by Fashion Changers and get-togethers with partners from the media and industry provide the perfect setting for intensive discussions.

“Sustainability in fashion has evolved from a nice-to-have to a synonym for innovation and progress (...) I’m now looking forward to taking our events at the Kraftwerk to the next level together with the established team around Bernd Müller", says Thimo Schwenzfeier, Show Director Neonyt”.

Beauty and Merdeces-Benz, novelties of next edition

From 3 to 5 July, the Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin will again bring together well-known labels, up-and- coming new faces and the leading lights of the fair fashion scene at the Kraftwerk events centre in Berlin. Visitors can expect, amongst other things, segments that are more strongly emphasised, complete outfits including shoes and accessories, together with, for the first time, a Beauty section

“The sustainable fashion catwalk jump into Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, presenting various looks that are put together and styled using items from the exhibitors’ collections".

For the first time, beauty brands will be exhibiting in their own dedicated section, where they will be presenting make-up, hair and skin care products, as well as styling products. Present here, too, is the Austrian label Ringana by Tina Feller; they are committed to high-tech freshener cosmetics made from natural ingredients, that manage to avoid preserving agents, solvents, stabilisers and mineral oils. As well as cosmetics, the label offers food supplements, too. Also represented is the beauty label Benecos from Aschaffenburg in Germany. They deal in certificated natural cosmetics and received a ‘Very Good’ in an assessment by the magazine, Ökotest, in March. Ella Brante, from Kronberg in the Taunus region in Germany, will be presenting body oils with ingredients derived solely from controlled organic cultivation. Moreover, fair trade protagonists EZA Fairer Handel will be introducing their Biosfair line of cosmetics, which is manufactured by a family firm in Salzburg.

The Catwalk show of Greenshowroom and Ethical Fashion Show Berlin will be part of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at the eWerk event location, for the first time in July. The revamped fashion show will present various looks that are put together and styled using items from the exhibitors’ collections, thus providing a brand-new picture of contemporary fashion.

The FashionSustain conference, successfully launched in January, will be held for the second time. In addition, Messe Frankfurt will be continuing its successful cooperation with the Premium Group in the context of FashionTech.
