Spring Summer 2021 Trends | Colourful Prints

We are leaving the harsh winter behind us, and with the arrive of Spring, we say hello to warmer clothes full of colors and joy. Prints, both classic and trendy come together this season with a twist.

We are entering our second Spring-Summer season on the midst of the pandemic; and while going out and partying may have came to a halt, style is never lost. Spring collections are characterized by colourful patterns and joyful designs. In addition to the already mentioned Upcycling and Dresses Trends; we bring you this time some inspiration for the days to come. Today, we will focus on the colourful prints that were showcased in the SS21 runways.

Every year with Spring we see how floral prints flourish in the different runways, it is no secret, they are a must. This season we see exploded and oversized flowers prints in voluminous pants, blazers and dresses. Erdem, Tom Ford and Chufy are some of the examples.

Vertical stripes always call much more attention than horizontal ones, and this season we have seen them in pretty colorful combinations. Dior, Versace and Adeam were some of the brands that presented them in their runways.

Like a flashback from the nineties, plaid has come back for this Spring-Summer season. Miu Miu incorporated the plaid prints into their casual looks, with skirts and playful combinations of pastel colours.

Tie-Dye has been coming strong for the last couple of seasons, and it appears that this trend is not getting old. Tom Ford and Alice & Olivia are some of the designers that showcased them in their runways.

Many designers have chosen to take inspiration from the ocean. Beach elements, blue ocean and fishnet are some of the ocean-inspired prints that we have seen this season. Versace was a major example of how the ocean can become chic pretty fast.

The animal print trend continues to bring momentum, but this time another motifs beside the classic, such as zebra or tiger prints are coming for the run. Redemption presented Zebra designs in its Spring-Summer 2021 Collection.
