«Imane Ayssi» is the perfect mix of craftsmanship, traditional materials, and cuts. The brand’s first and foremost priority is to use natural and organic materials with minimal impact, especially favoring cotton, vegetable-tanned leathers, bamboo fiber, and textiles dyed with natural ingredients or printed by hand. The most astonishing part of the designer’s sustainable approach was cultivated in his 2020 Fall Collection when Ayssi presented gowns made exclusively from pieces of leftover fabrics from previous collections. Thus, his curiosity about whether there was any need to create more clothing after the pandemic accumulated in his perspective on what precisely ‘waste fabric’ even means. For instance, he doesn’t try to hide the demarcations between strips of cloth but rather makes it his design feature.
