Maison Margiela is a French luxury fashion house headquartered in Paris and founded in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela. The house produces both haute couture and artisanal inspired ready-to-wear collections, and has recently taken sustainability at its helm: incorporating abandoned vintage dresses appliquéd to cotton sweat-shorts and upcycling satin bags used to package chocolates into elegant shift dresses. Upcycling is a huge part of this brand, and upcycled garments are often seen in its runway shows.
