Missoni is an Italian luxury fashion, founded by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni in 1953, that has since gained international recognition for its signature zig-zag knitwear designs. Margherita Missoni (heiress of her family's Missoni fashion house) was awarded the Innovator Award at Maison De Mode's third annual Sustainable Style Award for her commitment to making the brand more socially and environmentally sustainable. For example, Missoni has upcycled 26,000 meters of Missoni stock fabric and 1200 kilos of stock yarn in order to be more eco-conscious, in addition to creating jobs in countries such as Ethiopia, Peru and Ghana to improve corporate responsibility overall.
