Walkcoat Made of Organic Wool & Cotton by LANIUS
Why to buy: Love fashion — think organic — be responsible, these are the pillars of LANIUS, a brand whose principles combine eco-friendly materials, fair working conditions, feminine and fitting silhouettes. LANIUS sees sustainability as a future-oriented, ongoing process that takes into consideration people, animals and environment. Sustainable development is based on the so-called three pillar system: economic, environmental and social. LANIUS’s production sites comply with social and environmental standards which are regularly checked by independent institutions and the company itself. The brand has completely ditched the use of fur, and when it comes to wool, they stick to a strict “no-mulesing” policy. Animal welfare certification (kbT) guarantees that animal husbandry is appropriate to the species, abides to biological feeding (e.g. without genetic modification), fattening is forbidden, and that reproduction is only natural.
What we love: LANIUS creative team produces collections twice a year in their workshop in Cologne: feminine, unique and designed with great attention to detail. Thoughtful trends and high-quality materials define the style of their slowly-made collections. LANIUS’ last collection starts (a / w 2020) compiles three themes: EMPATHY, IDENTITY and THOUGHTS—highlighting the rational and emotional concerns of the wearer. The coat has a medium length and a straight cut, large patch pockets, a tie belt to fit the waist and a concealed button panel with horn buttons. The small stand-up collar protects and warms against wind and cold weather conditions. The viscose lining ensures wearing comfort and easy dressing and undressing.

Zero Gravity Puffers & Sneakers by POINT ZERO
Why to buy: Point Zero, Canada’s leading lifestyle brand launched a sustainable capsule last October, with a product range of puffers up to -30°C to ultimate zero gravity sneakers. Point Zero focuses on eco-friendly fabrics from sustainable cottons, recycled polyester and vegan fur linings, without compromising durability, style and comfort. Packaging has also been a major factor of change by the use of recycled fabrics for hangtags and care labels.
What we love: Point Zero’s commitment to sustainability began last season as the brand aims to reduce their carbon footprint within future collections. As consumers are evolving the brand has taken this shift to create a better future.
Based in Montreal, the Point Zero team took part in the climate change march last September which was led by the Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg. The brand’s first introduction to sustainability started within their office space, educating employees of the importance of the environment, participating in marches and eliminating any use of single use plastic, from water bottles to shopping bags.
