It all stems from the phrase: Feel good. Look good. Do good. These guiding principles have fostered a compelling partnership between PiPPiCA, a bio-circular, gender-neutral, and shape inclusive fashion company, and Wood Belt, an accessories company focused on humanitarian efforts. The collaboration between PiPPiCA and Wood Belt is a statement to the rest of the fashion industry, as it demonstrates the power of small companies working together toward a common goal. They have shown that it is possible to create with intentionality and thoughtfulness, whilst producing a beautiful product. The Thetis Trench Coat is a strong example of this, and it is where the PiPPiCA x Wood Belt partnership began.
PiPPiCA was designed with people and planet in mind. While their pieces are created with a focus on quality and luxury, they also ensure that each product is 100% compostable. More than just being sustainable, PiPPiCA is gender-neutral, shape inclusive, and does not sacrifice style.
Wood Belt produces unique wooden products for the fashion industry, within the framework of impact design. Impact design principles have a strong focus on environmental and social sustainability. More specifically Wood Belt’s patented wood buckles are made with wood offcuts and are crafted by people in underserved communities.
From the first collaboration, both companies knew that their partnership would continue to grow and evolve: “We are still in the beginning phases of growth, and we can make a more meaningful difference in the fashion industry if we combine our efforts and empower each other” - Dea Baker. Currently, PiPPiCA and Wood Belt are working to integrate their designs in new, seamless ways, and create a standard of support and collaboration in the fashion industry.
