Momad Madrid adoptes sustainability as a cross-cutting facet

Momad Madrid has adopted sustainability as a cross-cutting facet of the fair. The event will be held in Hall 8 of the Recinto Ferial de IFEMA MADRID from 16 to 18 September, with high expectations. For three days, the sector will unite to create a benchmark for the future at an event marked by the sector’s characteristic solidarity, perseverance and hard work.

Momad Madrid, the most important fashion fair in Spain, has sold out all its exhibition space, with more than 300 brands set to show at the next edition of MOMAD. This time, the fair has underlined its commitment to sustainability. As well as a specific area with brands that champion sustainable products, sustainability will be a differential factor in the exhibitor’s collections.

This is how Momad Madrid wants to encourage exhibitors to work in this direction, which is why it supports firms that exhibit sustainable collections, even if they were not created for the purpose.

Visitors will find sustainability everywhere at MOMAD Madrid, integrated in all areas and in the companies’ philosophy.

Among the 100% sustainable exhibitors at the exhibition, Tartaruga and Fuga stand out.

TARTARUGA bases its proposals on slow fashion, advocating timeless, high quality garments, with glamour, design and its own colouring based on vegetable dyes that last over time. Fleeing from the fast fashion of industrialised mass consumption, Tartaruga promote the traceability of garments, so that the consumer can know how and under what conditions they were made, conceiving fashion from an ethical point of view. Tartaruga is a brand based on the romantic component and the charm of "handmade". They are garments with no expiry date and with patterns suitable for all types of women.

FUGA is a unique pret-a-porter vegan fashion brand made only with recycled fabrics, complemented with accessories and handmade high quality materials. Fuga offers and values the quality and design in each capsule collection, along with the exclusivity of their own brand prints and handmade manufacturing away from large mass production, providing its own identity to each of its designs. All garments are made entirely in Spain, which allows the brand to have direct control over each garment, which is obviously reflected in the final result.
