WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO EXHIBIT SUSTAINABLE ART?

Significantly, museums and houses of culture insinuate a consensus on the role they should play today. There is a self-imposed moral duty to expose the violence and discrimination, which are systemic and embedded in society. Dangerous racist, sexist, classist attacks within many others, can be turned around with insistence and conviction.

In fact, the intention is to educate from solidarity and understanding. Preparing exhibitions means opening new debates, and to participate in them, we must be willing to change our minds. Get ready to know these positions in Spain on the climate debate.

OUR PLANET
CAFÉ MODERNO AFUNDACIÓN, PONTEVEDRA
Start: 2/15/2022 - end: 5/28/2022

Galicia gets the privilege of working with David Attenborough, it is this project in collaboration with Netflix. In fact, it is presented as an experiential activity thanks to digital and technological techniques. It is possible to unify the photographs with the floor and the walls, extending the images around the user. The exhibition will reproduce a short film by the acclaimed director to accentuate the sensations that emanate from his work.

In any event, it is essential to know Attenborough. But if there is any land that even allows you to experience it, that is Galicia.

CONSCIOUSNESS CREATORS. 40 COMMITTED PHOTOGRAPHERS
AUDITORIO DE GALICIA DE SANTIAGO, SANTIAGO
Start: 16/2/2022 - end: 29/5/2022

The participating photographers (meet them on the web) captured a circuit of events, representing the dilemmas facing the global community. Conflicts of now and tomorrow; climate change, the cruel migratory crisis, overproduction, portrayed in photographs that will remain in you.

In commemoration of the work of photojournalism and its priceless social work, 40 colleagues from the sector gather their work in the Isaac Díaz Pardo Room. A well-deserved tribute to workers for justice and truth, which finally gives them their place on a museum wall.

MESH (EARTHWORKS) ~ CAAMsonora
CENTRO ATLÁNTICO DE ARTE MODERNO (CAAM), LAS PALMAS
Start: 18 Aug 2021 - end: 18 Aug 2022

Pablo Sanz brings the sounds of the Earth to a room in Las Palmas, which make up unique music. According to the website, "his practice is a sensory research on listening, aural spatiality, materialities, and vitality beyond the human". If you can't wait to hear the music of the Earth, you can tune up your ears until this summer.

The poetry in this auditory art is innovative and, surely, with no equal. In essence, an inspiring way to literally listen to our planet. And not to fear its limitations, but to feel liberated at how far its possibilities go.

EMERGENCY ON PLANET EARTH
CENTRE DEL CARME CULTURA CONTEMPORÀNIA / MUSEO 2, VALÈNCIA
Start: 04 mar 2022 - end: 04 sep 2022

“[…] teaches the public the main environmental problems that destroy the Earth, betting on urban art as an engine of change”. To summarize, ephemeral works were born in the room itself to raise awareness about the twelve most important environmental issues. It directly challenges the viewer and asks what changes they should make in their lives to heal the planet. With the contribution of professionals from various sectors and even the involvement of community politicians, it offers an excellent synthesis. To sum up, it is a holistic and informative exhibition, highly recommended.

To conclude, we hope you enjoy these recommended exhibitions. If sustainable art is your new favorite interest to spare time in, check our articles on London and America exhibitions. While museums open their doors for a few hours, they allow us to open our minds for a lifetime.
