Josephinenhütte | The World’s Finest Glasses You Will Need To Have
Glasses are used every day, but rarely do they stand out like those crafted by Josephinenhütte. The Josephine collection is a beacon of aspiration, setting a new standard of excellence for glassware everywhere. Kurt Josef Zalto gifts buyers with the rare opportunity to drink from artwork in his new series Josephine.
A NEW CHAPTER IN CRAFTSMANSHIP
Josephinenhütte’s story began in the historic region of Silesia in 1842. The Silesian glass factory was one of the most renowned in Europe and the New World, home to objects of outstanding beauty. Thanks to three friends with a love for genuine craftsmanship, Josephinenhütte has been revived.
Glasses are crafted at the direction of Kurt Josef Zalto, arguably the most gifted glassmaker of our time. As the creative head of the new Josephinenhütte, this architect’s visionary designs are known for their unique shapes and expressive colours. His work opens a new dimension for all the senses, especially taste.

THE JOURNEY TOWARDS PERFECTION
Each glass has a journey behind it. Individually mouth-blown by passionate craftsmen, every step requires extensive experience, skill and concentration. These craftsmen have years of extensive experience in European glassworks, clearly reflected in the results.
The glassmaker constantly rotates the blowpipe, blowing hot liquid glass into the beach wood mould. After this, the stem is created, and a liquid glass mass is applied to build the base. Any glass that does not match Josephinenhütte’s vision of perfection is melted down and recycled. As a result, each glass is a masterpiece.
THE JOSEPHINE SERIES
Josephinenhütte’s Josephine series epitomises the perfect blend of art and functionality. Each glass is a sculptural masterpiece, enhancing the experience of touch, taste, and aroma, bringing out the best in every drink. Exceptionally light and thin-walled yet robust, each glass is designed for a different purpose whilst maintaining the harmonious balance only Kurt Josef Zalto’s mastery could produce.
