Taipei Sustainable Collections Show Showcases Innovative & Functional Collections
Taipei Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2023 has once again put the spotlight on sustainability with the third annual Taipei Sustainable Collections Show, held on March 24th in Taipei, Taiwan. As the first group show in Asia to focus on sustainability, the event showcased six designer brands and top textile manufacturers in Taiwan who collaborated to present a creative fusion of fashion and innovation. Let’s meet them.
This year’s lineup featured both first-time and established brands, each showcasing their own interpretation of “functional sustainable fashion.” Among the newcomers was PCES, which unveiled a sophisticated collection made from Li Peng Enterprise’s recycled and reprocessed garment waste fabrics. SYZYGY, on the other hand, turned earth-friendly and recycled yarns into a versatile and fashionable collection, highlighting the idea of one garment, multiple possibilities.
Returning brands also shone with their sustainable collections. DYCTEAM presented practical, simple and sleek styles made with Formosa Taffeta’s new bio-based and recycled fabric cloths, which use carbon capture and biological fermentation technology. oqLiq showcased streetwear and functional outdoor clothing made from low-impact fabrics, such as recycled fishing net yarn, thanks to Shin Kong Textile and Zig Sheng Industrial. UUIN teamed up with Far Eastern New Century to transform recycled land and ocean waste into unique pieces inspired by life as art. Finally, WEAVISM and Everest Textile collaborated on a gaming-inspired streetwear collection made from ecologically innovative fabrics derived from recycled PET bottles and factory waste.
Sustainability is one of the five core concepts of Taipei Fashion Week, along with function, diversity, interdisciplinarity and humanity.

THE DIVERSITY AND CREATIVITY OF SUSTAINABLE FASHION
Taipei Fashion Week is not only supporting the dialogue between traditional performance, craftsmanship and fashion. Now, with Taipei Sustainable Collections Show, the goal of the fashion week is to showcase the diversity and creativity of sustainable fashion while minimizing the industry’s impact on the planet. Sustainability is one of the five core concepts of Taipei Fashion Week, along with function, diversity, interdisciplinarity and humanity. By promoting these values, Taipei Fashion Week hopes to establish a mature industrial environment while continuing to accumulate the energy of fashion, ultimately creating fashionable clothes that people can be proud to wear in the future.
Following the Sustainable Collections Show, Taipei Fashion Week will continue through April 8th. To stay up-to-date on this season’s runway collections and scheduling information, link below.
