LONDON, U.K. AFRICAN FASHION

28 November 2022 – 16 April 2023

This is an exhibition that explores the impact of fashion through iconic elements of African culture. With the display of garments, textiles, testimonies, photographs, film and catwalk footage it is possible to visualize African voices on their perspective on fashion. In a diverse set, Africa Fashion represents the creatives of the culture in the twentieth century. Also, it was made in order to expose the work of new artists transforming the fashion industry on the continent. For example, Shade Thomas-Fahm, Chris Seydou, Kofi Ansah, Alphadi, etc.

“Africa Fashion means the past, the future and the present at the same time. The joy of life and the joy of color is completely different and very particular to the continent. It’s a language of heritage, it’s a language of DNA, it’s a language of memories” – Artsi, Fashion Designer, Maison ArtC
